Influence of inflammatory response on infarct size and microvascular obstruction estimated by cardiac magnetic resonance in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background The inflammatory response during ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) has been shown to influence the clinical outcome. Moreover, infarct size (IS) and microvascular obstruction (MVO) predict major adverse events in patients with STEMI. The aim of the study was to compare the inflammatory response measured by C-reactive protein (CRP) serum concentration and the number of white blood cells (WBC) with the infarct size and MVO estimated by CMR.

Myocardial Salvage is Reduced in Primary PCI-Treated STEMI Patients with Microvascular Obstruction, Demonstrated by Early and Late CMR
OBJECTIVES This study evaluates the association between microvascular obstruction and myocardial salvage, determined by cardiac magnetic resonance performed both in the acute stage of myocardial infarction and after 4 months. METHODS In patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction treated by primary percutaneous coronary intervention, myocardial salvage, infarct size, left ventricul...
متن کاملEvaluation of infarct size and microvascular reperfusion on angiography and cardiac magnetic resonance in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
Background Impaired microvascular reperfusion (no-reflow) and unsuccessful infarct-related artery (IRA) revascularization are associated with worse clinical outcome in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). Successful reperfusion can be estimated by epciardial and microvascular flow. Both of them can be ev...
متن کاملMicrovascular Resistance Predicts Myocardial Salvage and Infarct Characteristics in ST‐Elevation Myocardial Infarction
BACKGROUND The pathophysiology of myocardial injury and repair in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction is incompletely understood. We investigated the relationships among culprit artery microvascular resistance, myocardial salvage, and ventricular function. METHODS AND RESULTS The index of microvascular resistance (IMR) was measured by means of a pressure- and temperature-sensitiv...

Purpose: To assess the relationship between the severity of coronary arteries involvement and the extent and pattern of myocardial scars in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance of patients with history of remote myocardial infarction. Materials and Methods: The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance images of sixty patients with history of remote ST segment or non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were ...

OBJECTIVES The aim of the AIDA STEMI (Abciximab i.v. Versus i.c. in ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction) cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) substudy was to investigate potential benefits of intracoronary versus intravenous abciximab bolus administration on infarct size and reperfusion injury in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. BACKGROUND The AIDA STEMI trial randomized 2,065 patients ...
